Things To Do

Our favorite restaurants

  • White Duck Taco Shop - one of our favorite Asheville spots - we go here as much as we can! Their Bangkok Shrimp tacos are the best on the menu. Pair it with some queso and a Cheerwine slushie for the best lunch.
  • Biscuit Head - there's nothing better than a solid autumn brunch in the mountains and Biscuit Head is a great option for that. Try a biscuits and gravy flight (!!) or their Mimosa Fried Chicken Biscuit. They're unreal.
  • Farm Burger - who doesn't love a good burger?? We love Farm Burger for their great burgers, but also for their sustainable food sourcing. Try the sweet potato hush puppies if you want a real treat.
  • Tupelo Honey - the quintessential southern restaurant with a twist. Tucked into a fun corner downtown, the fried chicken alone is worth the trip.
  • Corner Kitchen - a sweet, homey spot in the idillic Biltmore Village area. They're open for lunch and dinner and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
  • Pack's Tavern - Pack's Tavern in the fall is the place to be if you're a football fan. Grab a drink, some wings, and settle in for a cozy spot to watch the game.
  • Red Ginger Dim Sum & Tapas - a quaint spot in downtown Asheville with a variety of options if you're craving Asian food. We love their spring rolls and noodle dishes!
  • Grove Park Inn - Imagine a mountain resort set in the 1920s and you've got Grove Park. Aside from the stunning views, their food offerings are incredible. If you're feeling like a splurge, check out the Blue Ridge Dining Room for endless views of the mountains and rooms (yes, plural!) of decadent food options.

our favorite sweets

  • Vortex Doughnuts - arguably Zach's favorite Asheville establishment with the best cinnamon sugar doughnuts out there.
  • Hole Doughnuts - with only 4 flavors each week, this place is a real treat. They've made doughnut making into an art form.
  • Double D's Coffee & Desserts - a London inspired double decker bus turned coffee shop in the middle of downtown. Go for the experience, stay for the amazing lattes.
  • French Broad Chocolate Lounge - it's a literal chocolate restaurant. They have something called a "liquid truffle". You cannot go wrong here.

our favorite sips

  • Sierra Nevada Brewery - this is basically Willy Wonka's factory for adults who love beer. The property itself is impeccable, but the real treat is the soft pretzel/beer cheese combo.
  • New Belgium Brewing - located along the French Broad River, this is one of the best places to get a beer and enjoy an afternoon.
  • Highland Brewing - Asheville's first brewery! We're big fans of Highland and their involvement in the community - it also helps that they have great beer!
  • Burntshirt Vineyards - if you're a wine fan, this is a fun place to check out. They have amazing mountain views and a variety of tasting options.
  • Wicked Weed Brewing - one of Asheville's smaller breweries with some serious quirk and fantastic beer.
  • Thirsty Monk - if you're into Belgian beers and fun atmospheres, this is the place to be.
  • Bold Rock - you've probably seen Bold Rock in stores - now you can visit the cidery! They always have a handful of food trucks and a good option for outdoor seating.

Our favorite spots

  • Battery Park Book Exchange - champagne and old books!
  • Grove Park Inn - if you want to see F. Scott Fitzgerald's old hangout spot, this is the place to be.
  • Biltmore Estate - the biggest home in America, owned by the Vanderbilts. You could spend a day here and not see it all!
  • North Carolina Arboretum - we love this spot! Flowers, hikes, and plenty of good mountain air
  • Folk Art Center - this is a must when coming to Asheville! Along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the FAC is a sweet spot filled with art, jewelry, and gifts from local artisans.
  • Blue Ridge Parkway - arguably the prettiest drive in America
  • Mast General Store - there are a few of these in the surrounding area and they're worth a visit! Old creaky floors, barrels of candy, and ourdoor gear.
